SPECIALIST REGISTRAR TRAINEE, NORTHWEST DEANERY
I completed specialist clinical oncology training over 5 years at The Christie Cancer hospital Manchester and Lancashire Teaching hospitals. This included training across all oncology disease sites, with emphasis on gynaecology, neuro-oncology, lymphoma, sarcoma, SRS, head and neck.
Training at Addenbrookes Cambridge also included. Royal College of Radiologist travelling fellowship to MD Anderson Proton centre, Texas.
During this period he entered examinations and was successfully invited to the Fellowship of the Royal college of Radiologists (Oncology), FRCR.
July 2004 to July 2009
JUNIOR TRAINING, HOSPITAL MEDICINE
After completing his medical degree at Imperial College London, UK, Dr Kennedy completed extensive hospital medicine training at St Marys Paddington, Hillingdon hospital, Royal Berkshire Reading and South Manchester University Hospitals. He rotated through acute medicine, emergency medicine, care of the elderly, cardiology, anaesthetics, intensive care, respiratory medicine, orthopaedics, general surgery and oncology. An exciting early start to his medical career at some of the countries best teaching hospitals.
During this time Dr Kennedy achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians London, MRCP.
September 1998 to July 2004
MEDICAL SCHOOL
Dr Kennedy had a fantastic medical school education and training at Imperial College, university of London, training at some of the best London hospitals, including Charing Cross, St Marys, Chelsea and Westminster. London offered a wealth of medical experience and offered fantastic foundations for a career in Medicine. Dr Kennedy completed a 10 week elective in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital Cape Town South Africa.
During this period he also was awarded a First class Science degree from Imperial College in Immunology and Pathology.
